As Texas and the nation grieve for the dozens killed away by flash-flooding waters in the Hill Country after torrential downpours on the 4th, one Houstonian is standing out, and not in a good way. Meet Sade Perkins.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I\u2019m going to get cancelled for this, but Camp Mystic is a white-only girls\u2019 Christian camp. They don\u2019t even have a token Asian. They don\u2019t have a token Black person. It\u2019s an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp,\u201d Perkins says in the video.<\/p>\n

Ms. Perkins is a former Mayoral appointee to the Food Insecurity Board, whose term expired in January. Sounds like she shouldn’t plan on getting re-hired:<\/p>\n
Houston Mayor John Whitmire addressed the controversy on Sunday, calling Perkins\u2019 comments \u201cdeeply inappropriate\u201d and stating they have no place in a decent society, especially as families grieve confirmed deaths and await the ongoing search for missing persons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe individual who made these statements is not a City of Houston employee,\u201d Whitmire clarified. \u201cShe was appointed to the City\u2019s Food Insecurity Board by former Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2023, and her term expired in January 2025. Mayor Whitmire has no plans to reappoint her, and the City is taking immediate steps to remove her permanently from the board.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\n \n\nKinda tells you something about the previous Democratic administrations in Houston, doesn’t it? The only bright spot is that according to when the board was established, the position was unpaid. I’d hate to think the taxpayers would be on the hook for<\/div>\n\n\u201cThey want you to have sympathy for these people. They want to get out of your bed and to come out of your home and to go find these people and to donate your money to go to find these people,\u201d Perkins said in the video.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\u201cMeanwhile, they are deporting your family members. Meanwhile, they\u2019re setting up concentration camps and prisons for your family members.
