Man hospitalized after what police call a self-defense shooting on Cape Coral’s Midpoint Bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n

CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014
\nA man was shot late Thursday night on the westbound side of a Cape Coral bridge after another man opened fire in what police said was self-defense.<\/p>\n

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded around 11:40 p.m. to reports of gunfire on the Midpoint Memorial Bridge.<\/p>\n

Officers found that a man had been attacked and the victim responded by shooting the other man, who was then taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

Police said the shooting was determined to be self-defense and believe the incident was isolated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – A shooting death investigation is underway in Scott County after a report of a home invasion.<\/p>\n

Deputies were called overnight to a home on County Road 244 for a report of a home invasion and shooting.<\/p>\n

When they arrived, deputies said they learned that the homeowner had shot and killed someone attempting to break into the home.<\/p>\n

According to the Scott County Sheriff\u2019s Office, preliminary reports show the homeowner acted to protect themselves when they were alerted about the intrusion and fired four shots at the suspect.<\/p>\n

All four shots hit the suspect who died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office said initial findings show the homeowner\u2019s actions of defense appear to have been justified, but the shooting remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

No charges have been filed against the homeowner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
