It is shocking. It is disgraceful.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Who is &#8220;we&#8221;, Teddy? Is it coming out of your pocket?\u00c2\u00a0Small businesses will be hit hardest by a minimum wage increase (well, actually, new hires will be hit hardest because they won&#8217;t get hired if small businesses can&#8217;t afford to pay them), so how much sense does it make, since Congress is hell-bent on\u00c2\u00a0imposing this unfunded mandate on employers,\u00c2\u00a0that Congress give those employers who will still hire new workers despite the hike a break?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Senator Kennedy complains about $8.3 billion in tax relief out of one side of his mouth, while asking for $8.5 billion in pork-barrel spending out of the other,&#8221; said Wesley Denton, spokesman for Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican.<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;He wants to have it both ways, and that&#8217;s exactly what this debate has been about. He says he wants to help people get out of poverty, but then proposes a one-size-fits all federal mandate that actually prevents people from getting their first job,&#8221; Mr. Denton said.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Where was Teddy Kennedy&#8217;s concern for the American worker when he voted for the 1993 tax hike that raised EVERYONE&#8217;S taxes &#8211; including retirees on Social Security? Where was Teddy Kennedy&#8217;s concern for the American worker when he voted against President Bush&#8217;s tax cut\u00c2\u00a0in 2001 when about half of low-income workers were either given a thirty-three percent tax cut or moved entirely off the tax rolls.<\/p>\n<p>And, by the way, Fat Boy, where is all of this &#8220;bi-partisan cooperation&#8221; I&#8217;ve been hearing about?
