38-year-old man shot at Cleveland impound lot<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA 38-year-old man is in the hospital and facing charges after police say he was shot while trying to break into a vehicle at a Cleveland impound lot early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened just after 5 a.m. at Lot 6 on Quigley Road. When officers with the Cleveland Division of Police’s Second District responded to the scene they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, the man was attempting to break into a car inside the lot when he was confronted by a civilian contractor working with a towing company. The contractor, who is not a city employee, told police the suspect displayed what appeared to be a firearm.<\/p>\n

In response, the contractor fired his own weapon, hitting the suspect in the leg. The man then ran but was later found hiding in a nearby vehicle.<\/p>\n

He was taken to the hospital by EMS and is under arrest for breaking and entering.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAKRON, Ohio \u2014 The Summit County Medical Examiner and Akron Police Department are investigating the homicide of a 31-year-old man following a shooting at a bar early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

According to Akron police, officers responded to multiple calls about a shooting at Ole Glory Daze in the 900 block of Old Main Street around 2:28 a.m.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found two men, ages 31 and 44, who had both sustained gunshot wounds. Officers began administering emergency medical care to the victims.<\/p>\n

Officials say the preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting began in the parking lot, where the 31-year-old allegedly approached the 44-year-old and shot him multiple times. The injured man ran back inside the bar before collapsing, police said.<\/p>\n

According to police, the 31-year-old followed him inside and was seen reaching toward his pockets when the 44-year-old pulled out a firearm and returned fire, fatally striking the younger man.<\/p>\n

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Vernall Robinson lV, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:02 a.m., according to the Summit County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
