37-year-old identified as man who was shot and killed in Richmond\u2019s Northside<\/strong><\/p>\n

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) \u2014 A 37-year-old man has been identified as the man who was shot and killed in Richmond\u2019s Northside Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Detectives have identified 37-year-old Dominique Epps of Henrico County as the man who died in the 2200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue on the evening of Thursday, June 5.<\/p>\n

Officers were called to Sugar\u2019s Crab Shack just before 9:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot.<\/p>\n

When officials arrived, they found a man down and unresponsive inside of the business, with an apparent gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.<\/p>\n

\u201cMajor Crimes detectives are investigating this incident as a possible robbery attempt by Epps, with an exchange of gunfire with an employee,\u201d Richmond Police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nHOUSTON \u2014 A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot by Houston police early Friday morning during a chaotic scene involving multiple armed suspects at a southwest Houston apartment complex.<\/p>\n

It happened around 2 a.m. at the Costa Maya Apartments on Cinnamon Lane, just south of Beechnut Street.<\/p>\n

According to HPD, officers were responding to a report of a shooting when they arrived to find multiple people running and shooting at each other around the complex. Police said heavy gunfire erupted as officers got to the scene, and shell casings were later found up and down Cinnamon Lane.<\/p>\n

One of the individuals who ran from the scene was a 15-year-old boy who was armed with a rifle, according to investigators. Two HPD officers opened fire, hitting the teen in the stomach. He ran off but was later found inside an apartment. He was taken to Texas Children\u2019s Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.<\/p>\n

A rifle was recovered near the teen, according to police.<\/p>\n

Two other people, a man and a woman, were detained at the scene. However, HPD said surveillance video shows other suspects may have been involved in the gunfire exchange. Their identities and roles remain under investigation.<\/p>\n

No officers were injured during the incident.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
