Ford

There’s a pretty good article in Politico about the Blue on Blue fight shaping up in the NY Senate race between Kirsten Gillibrand and Harold Ford:

In a statement, Gillibrand took aim at the Wall Street-friendly Democrats who have pledged to back Ford’s candidacy, including the billionaire husband-and-wife team of Steve Rattner and Maureen White.

Anyone is “more than welcome” to run against her this year, she said, adding:

“That includes a former Tennessee congressman … and Merrill executive who has an anti-choice and anti-LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] record and whose candidacy is being floated by a few Wall Street insiders.”

As if to demonstrate their differing styles, the Ford campaign responded to that tough statement with the rhetorical equivalent of a two-by-four.

“If the unelected senator and tobacco industry apologist has a new strategy based on distorting Harold’s support for abortion rights and gay rights, then she’s not only a puppet of the party bosses, she’s a desperate liar,” Ford spokesman Davidson Goldin said.

I’ve always been a bit of a fan of Ford’s because he is capitalism friendly, and he used to appear on FoxNews even before it became the ratings behemoth it is now. And while I don’t always agree with him on everything, he always seemed very honest.

Now, my question is this: Just who the hell would vote for Gillibrand? Admittedly I vote based on how I trust and respect more, so I am skewed from the start, but does anyone know a single position that Gillibrand has taken that is non-negotiable? When she represented upstate she was a moderate to conservative who opposed illegal immigration, was pro-gun etc. As soon as she got a Senate seat, she just shifted every position she had to the left. Now, I totally get representing your constituency, but if she is so easily swayed, why get a politician when any hired lawyer would do? She doesn’t seem to have a single position that she espouses that isn’t based on her political situation. Go ahead and show me i am wrong.

And listen to this mealy mouthed bullshit she espoused to the NYT to explain it:

In a lot of these issues, it’s a case of learning more and expanding my view,” Ms. Gillibrand said in an interview after the meeting.

Is this some sort of OJT or something? Why didn’t you learn more about it BEFORE the people of the Albany area hired you to represent them?

She’s a deplorable person, and I would argue the reason that people hate politicians is because they stand for nothing, and their person exemplar would be this lady.

There’s a pretty good article in Politico about the Blue on Blue fight shaping up in … <a title="Gillibrand v.
