Police: Man killed in Fort Myers apartment shooting lived in complex<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Fort Myers Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Carlton Luxury Apartments.<\/p>\n

Police swarmed the gated apartment complex late Thursday, focusing on an apartment on the second floor of one of the property\u2019s units.<\/p>\n

According to FMPD, the caller said they fired one shot at an intruder who was armed with a firearm and trying to gain entry into their residence.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, police and emergency medical services attempted life-saving measures on the injured person, but the person died on the scene.<\/p>\n

Police then said that every party involved in the investigation has cooperated, and no one is now in custody.<\/p>\n

The caller said that they did not know the intruder.

\nPolice received the call around 11:30 p.m. The caller reported an armed intruder attempting to enter their apartment and fired a single shot, resulting in the intruder\u2019s death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
