Georgia Bureau of Investigation&#8217;s report states that the episode unfolded early morning yesterday, when a speeding Cadillac sedan prompted a car chase after failing to stop for the Cook County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The chase, which began over the Cadillac&#8217;s excessive speed of over 100 mph on Interstate 75, persisted for several miles and eventually came to a halt in Dooly County where deputies executed a PIT maneuver to immobilize the vehicle, after the car continued, fleeing from the attempts of law enforcement to reign in the speeding driver finally near Exit 109, a potentially volatile situation was in progress. When deputies approached the vehicle and attempted to interact, the woman behind the wheel began firing at them, striking one deputy.<\/p>\n<p>In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, deputies shot the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene while no information regarding her identity has been released pending notification of next of kin.
