(KSEE/KGPE) – An armed security guard from the Switch Nightclub returned gunfire after a shooting in Fresno Sunday, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police say that just after midnight on Sunday, officers made a traffic stop near the nightclub and heard gunshots coming from the parking lot.

As officers arrived at the business, they were told a shooting suspect had fled on foot, firing at security guards and patrons.

Officers say they found the suspect, 26-year-old Ian McDonough, hiding near a business dumpster with a bullet wound to his lower leg.

Officials say officers were also told that a shooting victim, a 26-year-old man, had just been dropped off at a local hospital.

From witness statements and surveillance videos, detectives say they determined that McDonough and the shooting victim had been in a verbal argument in the parking lot. During the argument, McDonough allegedly pulled out a handgun and began firing at the victim.

Detectives say McDonough continued to fire as he fled from the scene. An armed security guard from the Switch Nightclub returned fire, striking McDonough in the leg.

Detectives say they recovered the handgun that McDonough used, as well as clothing that he removed as he fled.

After being treated for his injuries at the hospital, police say McDonough was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm.

0 / 1 / 0
Your Central Valley

Police: Deputies shoot woman who waved gun, rammed patrol car after attempted traffic stop
The 65-year-old woman shot is said to be stable in the hospital. One deputy was treated for a minor injury he got during the crash.

Author: Alexa Herrera, Andrea Chu
INDIAN SHORES, Fla. — Pinellas County deputies shot a woman who fled a traffic stop, waved a gun and rammed into several patrol cars overnight, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

It began just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at 113th Street North and Park Boulevard. A deputy reportedly saw a red Toyota hatchback run a red light and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, 65-year-old Marina DeFilippo, initially stopped and then drove away, investigators said. Police Chief Anthony Holloway added that the woman was speaking in Russian and claiming the CIA was after her.

Despite deputies using stop sticks, investigators say DeFilippo drove off with flat tires.

That’s when Indian Shores police initiated a felony traffic stop. Holloway said during the stop, DeFilippo was waving her gun around.

Police asked DeFilippo to get out of her car, but she reportedly rammed one of their patrol cars and continued northbound on Gulf Boulevard.

Deputies performed a PIT maneuver to stop DeFilippo at 20254 Gulf Boulevard. They ordered her out of the car and reportedly fired less-lethal options like bean bags and pepper balls. Still, police say DeFilippo tried to drive away, crashing into vehicles on the road.

Seven Pinellas County deputies then fired their weapons, hitting DeFilippo at least three times, according to the police chief.

She suffered life-threatening, critical injuries and was transported to the hospital where she is said to be stable. One deputy was also treated for a minor injury he got in the crash.

Holloway said DeFilippo is expected to survive and will face charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and fleeing and eluding.

0 / 1 / 0
WTSP

Today’s links care of our Gun Bunny and Old Tanker- thanks!

In politics stupidity is not a handicap.
Napoleon Bonaparte

Colt Single Action Army Revolver Man dead, 4 others injured in shooting at northwest-side bar, SAPD … Daily FGSRead more

[218,406

post-168102","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-feel-good-stories","category-guest-link
["GET
