Teen suspect shot by North Hills homeowner<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 17-year-boy suspected of burglarizing a car was wounded Monday morning by a North Hills homeowner who mistook a tool for a handgun, police said.<\/p>\n

A 46-year old man saw three people around 12:30 a.m. removing wheels from his vehicle in the area of Gledhill Street and Gloria Avenue and shot at them, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman.<\/p>\n

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old male, was wounded and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was reported to have stable vital signs, Eisenman said.<\/p>\n

A tool the teen was holding may have been mistaken for a handgun, according to a report from the scene.<\/p>\n

Two other suspects ran away were not immediately apprehended, police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man shot and killed in east Tulsa after attacking another man with bat, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

TULSA, Okla. \u2014 Police said a man was shot and killed in east Tulsa after attacking another man with a bat on Monday.<\/p>\n

Tulsa Police said officers responded to a home near East Admiral Place and South 193rd East Avenue for a report of a shooting around 2:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

TPD identified the victim as 36-year-old Dane Swets.<\/p>\n

Swets died a short time later, police said.<\/p>\n

Tulsa Police said after reviewing surveillance video and talking with the suspected shooter, detectives determined that Swets approached the suspected shooter and the two got into an altercation.<\/p>\n

Police told FOX23 at the scene Swets is a homeless man known to the area and that he attacked a man who was working on his car in his driveway with a bat.<\/p>\n

The man who was working on his car got to his firearm and shot Swets, Tulsa Police said.<\/p>\n

“At one point, the shooting victim pulled out a bat and began hitting the suspected shooter, and the suspected shooter then shot the victim,” police said.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspected shooter was questioned and is not under arrest at this time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
