He feared for his life and that of his family and armed himself with a firearm.

The San Bernardino County homeowner shot at the burglars, hitting two, before they fled. The burglars left the scene in a white sedan.

Later that night, police found two of the burglary suspects at a gas station, according to CBS. A different call reporting a man with a gunshot wound brought them there.

A 15-year-old boy accompanied one of the men who the homeowner shot.

Police took both suspects to the hospital, and doctors pronounced the injured man dead, Fox11 reports.

Less than an hour later, another hospital reported a gunshot victim, later identified as the third suspect, 27-year-old Marquez Jackson.

Jackson was treated for his gunshot wound before being taken into custody.

Jackson and the 15-year-old were charged with burglary and murder under California’s felony murder rule, which holds accomplices responsible for deaths that occur during the commission of a crime.

Jackson also faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The San Bernardino County homeowner has not been charged for the shooting. Police say the man acted in fear for his life.

1 / 2 / 0
Guns America

Stopped the threat and scored hits on two of the three- BZ homeowner!

Man grabs Philadelphia police officer’s gun outside hospital, shoots him before being fatally shot

BRUCE SHIPKOWSKI
A man who had voluntarily agreed to be taken to a psychiatric hospital by Philadelphia police grabbed an officer’s gun outside the facility and wounded him before being fatally shot by another officer, the city police commissioner said, noting the wounded officer’s bulletproof vest spared him from serious injury.

The shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at Friends Hospital, Commissioner Kevin Bethel said. He said the two city officers had encountered the man earlier Thursday after he was seen walking in traffic, and he agreed to go to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The man was driven to the hospital in a police van but was not handcuffed because he had agreed to go voluntarily, Bethel said. As the officers were speaking with him after they arrived, the man became combative and attacked one of the officers.

One officer fired a Taser at the man, who continued to struggle as all three men fell to the ground. The man took an officer’s gun and started firing, wounding that officer, who was struck at the base of his vest.

The other officer shot the man multiple times, and he was taken to another hospital where he later died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

The second officer was not shot in the scuffle but did suffer an undisclosed injury. Both officers were treated at a third hospital and were later released.

1 / 0 / 0
Yahoo

No good deed goes unpunished.

Axe-wielding man dead after NC officer-involved shooting: Officials

Starletta Watson
PINEHURST, N.C.
