State police identify man, 62, shot by officers after Covington bank robbery Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAuthorities have identified the man shot by Covington police during an armed bank robbery Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Kentucky State Police said 62-year-old Charles Davis, of Covington, was shot by city officers after being seen fleeing the U.S. Bank on the 600 block of Madison Avenue while armed with a weapon, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

Covington police officers were on the lookout for a man matching Davis’ description after learning a robbery had taken place around 3 p.m. and found him less than a block from the bank shortly thereafter, the department said in a news release.<\/p>\n

State police say Covington officers told Davis to drop his weapon, and during the encounter officers fired at Davis, wounding him with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Davis was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was in stable condition as of Sunday morning, a state police spokeswoman told The Enquirer.<\/p>\n

No officers or other injuries were reported during the robbery and subsequent shooting, authorities said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One person injured in Covington Co. officer-involved shooting; SBI investigating<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCOVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) \u2014 An investigation is underway into an officer-involved shooting on Sunday in Covington County.<\/p>\n

Officers say that on Sunday morning, dispatch received multiple \u201c911 hang-ups\u201d from Chad Sheehan, a man police say has a history of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

A deputy went to the home on County Road 21 in Red Level for a welfare check, and police say he noticed the lights in the house were on, and as he approached, a vehicle rammed through a gate, charging the officer.<\/p>\n

Police say Sheehan, who didn\u2019t live at the home, exited the vehicle with a firearm and charged at the officer. The deputy then fired several shots and hit Sheehan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
