Man shot while trying to steal truck, WCSO says<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOne person was shot at a home in the Boonsville area early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Chief Deputy Eric Debus with the Wise County Sheriff\u2019s Department said deputies responded to a shooting call at 3:47 a.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cInitial investigation indicates that a suspect was attempting to steal a truck at a residence in the 7600 block of FM 920,\u201d Debus said. \u201cThe resident discovered the theft in progress and attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect did not comply and attempted to leave in the stolen truck.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deputies arrived to find the suspect had been shot.<\/p>\n

He was flown to a hospital \u201cwith what appears to be non-life threatening injuries,\u201d Debus said.<\/p>\n

According to police radio, the resident was initially holding the suspect at gunpoint while awaiting officers to arrive on the scene, and an ambulance with Wise County EMS was staged nearby until the scene was secure.<\/p>\n

Air Evac Lifeteam 68 was called to the scene to fly the patient to Medical City Denton. Farm Road 920 was shut down in the area for a short time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Quentin Price, of the 900 block of Wrightsboro Road, told Richmond County Sheriff\u2019s Office investigators that at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the emergency room at Wellstar MCG Health that “he was shot by an unknown person while sitting in a field,” according to the RCSO.<\/p>\n

Officers then learned of a domestic violence call that occurred earlier on the 3100 block of Blackmon Court, the female victim’s residence.<\/p>\n

Armed with a gun, investigators say, Price tried to force his way into the woman’s bedroom in which she locked herself. Finding her own gun, she fired through the closed door and hit Price in the upper arm before he fled.<\/p>\n

Price has been charged with kidnapping; false imprisonment; terroristic threats and acts; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
