Homeowner shoots, kills burglar in west Phoenix, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPHOENIX (AZFamily) \u2014 A burglar is dead after a west Phoenix homeowner shot him on Friday night, police said.<\/p>\n

It happened near 106th Avenue and Heatherbrae Drive, which is just north of Indian School Road, just after 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

The suspect, a 51-year-old man, was shot and taken to the hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

No one else was hurt.<\/p>\n

Police said the homeowner admitted to being the shooter.<\/p>\n

The homeowner was detained but later released after speaking with detectives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

1 dead after Madison shooting; MNPD investigating self-defense claim<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) \u2014 Authorities are looking into a self-defense claim following a deadly shooting outside a Madison restaurant Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the investigation shows there was \u201can alleged altercation\u201d between 50-year-old Richard Trout and 23-year-old Skyler Whitefield-Brewner in the parking lot of Bar-B-Cutie on Gallatin Pike North when shots were fired just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25.<\/p>\n

Officials said Trout ran into the restaurant with multiple gunshot wounds and was brought to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he died.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, police said Whitefield-Brewner \u2014 who was known by witnesses at the location \u2014 fled the scene. However, he showed up at MNPD Headquarters Saturday afternoon to speak with detectives.<\/p>\n

Authorities said no charges have been filed against Whitefield-Brewner in connection with the shooting, but he was booked into jail Saturday evening on two outstanding warrants for evading arrest and reckless driving. Davidson County Sheriff\u2019s Office records indicate Whitefield-Brewner has already been released.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
