Another man, 46, was also at the location and was detained with no injuries.

The injured man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The man who ended up dying has been identified as the suspect.

Police say that both men were having a verbal altercation on the road while driving, then followed each other to the intersection of Springtime and Spring Hurst.

The suspect stopped his vehicle and opened his trunk. Police say the victim saw the firearm the suspect was holding and reportedly shot the suspect with his own weapon. The suspect was hit multiple times.

A firearm was located on the suspect and was recovered. The victim’s weapon was also recovered.

The victim is cooperating with the investigation, and it is unclear what charges, if any, he faces.

1 / 0 / 0
KENS 5

Anything worth shooting..

Pulaski County sheriff’s office investigating convenience store robbery and shooting

by Daniel McFadin
The Pulaski County sheriff’s office is investigating an aggravated robbery of a convenience store that resulted in a shooting, the agency announced late Wednesday night.

Deputies responded at 7:02 p.m. to a robbery in progress call at the Lucky 107 Convenience Store on Arkansas 107 in Jacksonville.

Both the store’s clerk and the suspect were shot in the incident and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

0 / 1 / 0
Arkansas Online

Swift recovery for the not-so-lucky store clerk.
