\nHOUSTON \u2014 An aggressive driving situation on I-610 Friday night led to a shooting in northeast Houston, police said.<\/p>\n

The Houston Police Department said this happened around 9:30 p.m. when a man in his 40s was aggressively driving a truck and swerving in and out of traffic. At some point, HPD said the man zeroed in on a car driven by a 20-year-old man. The 20-year-old man also had his pregnant girlfriend in the car.<\/p>\n

Police said the truck driver started to “brake check” the car and was being “extremely reckless.” The 20-year-old driver exited the freeway at McCarty Street to try to get away from the truck, but the truck driver followed him.<\/p>\n

At a red light on McCarty Street, the truck driver pulled up next to the car and started yelling at the 20-year-old man and his girlfriend, indicating that he wanted to hurt them, according to HPD.<\/p>\n

Police said the 20-year-old driver again tried to get away from the aggressive driver, but the truck drove into the oncoming traffic lanes to swerve in front of him and block them. That’s when HPD said the truck driver got out and ran toward the car with his hands near his pocket. Police said the 20-year-old driver feared for his life and opened fire through the front windshield and through the side of the car, hitting the aggressive driver in the torso, arm and leg.<\/p>\n

According to HPD, the 20-year-old driver used to be a security guard and had handcuffs on him. He detained the other driver and contacted police. HPD said he was fully cooperating with investigators.<\/p>\n

The alleged aggressive driver was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to survive.<\/p>\n

Mobile police release names of 2 men killed in shooting on Newcombe Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nUPDATE: Mobile police have released the identities of two men killed early this morning in shooting stemming from a fight in the 7500 block of Newcombe Drive.<\/p>\n

Authorities said 24-year-old Jimmetrious Wilson and 41-year-old Tristian Williams had been arguing when Wilson assaulted Williams, who then shot Wilson. Police said a known female subject, whom they did not name, then shot Williams.<\/p>\n

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
