The machine then reversed out of the driveway and fled the scene, crossing a large field and going down a road into the woods.

At about 6:10 a.m. emergency dispatchers received a report of a front-end loader driving on a road.

Police found the vehicle on Center Road in Charleston. The driver, Michael Thompson, 37, of Corinna, surrendered without incident and told them he had been shot, the sheriff’s office said. After being treated at a hospital, he was arrested and brought to Penobscot County Jail.

0 / 1 / 0
Bangor Daily News

Cabin fever hit early Down East, bringing a front-end loader to a gun fight.

Suspect in attempted carjackings dies after shot outside coffee shop

by: Gregg Montgomery
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A suspect shot outside a coffee shop amid attempted carjackings Wednesday morning has died, Indianapolis police say.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Trevor Marrero, the Marion County Coroner’s Office said Thursday.

Police were called just before 5:45 a.m. Wednesday to the Starbucks at 5710 W. 86th St. That’s near the Traders Point shopping area.
