Jack Smith released a 174-page report on his investigation on Donald Trump. Smith insisted that he was not subjected to any political influence specifically from Team Biden. According to him, the “north star” guiding their investigation involved following the facts and the law. Smith insisted that the decision to bring up charges against Trump were his alone. He stands by his investigation, conclusions, and actions. Smith indicated that had Donald Trump not won the election, Trump would have been convicted.<\/p>\n

From the New York Post:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout my service as Special Counsel, seeking to influence the election one way or the other, or seeking to interfere in its outcome, played no role in our work,\u201d the prosecutor wrote. \u201cMy Office had one north star: to follow the facts and law wherever they led. Nothing more and nothing less.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I relied greatly on the counsel, judgment, and advice of our team, I want it to be clear that the ultimate decision to bring charges against Mr. Trump was mine,\u201d Smith added. \u201cIt is a decision I stand behind fully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is equally important for me to make clear that nobody within the Department of Justice ever sought to interfere with, or improperly influence, my prosecutorial decision making,\u201d the special counsel continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd to all who know me well, the claim from Mr. Trump that my decisions as a prosecutor were influenced or directed by the Biden administration or other political actors is, in a word, laughable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump hit back at Smith, slamming him as a \u201cderanged\u201d and \u201clamebrain\u201d prosecutor in a Truth Social post after the report was released.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeranged Jack Smith was unable to successfully prosecute the Political Opponent of his \u2018boss,\u2019 Crooked Joe Biden, so he ends up writing yet another \u2018Report\u2019 based on information that the Unselect Committee of Political Hacks and Thugs ILLEGALLY DESTROYED AND DELETED, because it showed how totally innocent I was, and how completely guilty Nancy Pelosi, and others, were,\u201d the president-elect wrote, referring to files that the now-disbanded House Select Jan. 6 Committee deleted before Republicans gained control of the lower chamber in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cJack is a lamebrain prosecutor who was unable to get his case tried before the Election, which I won in a landslide. THE VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!!!\u201d Trump added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
