WARNING WARNING WARNING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Slovakian airport security is so boneheaded incompetent <\/span>lax that they actually put explosives<\/a> in your luggage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Following contact … from the Slovakian authorities with the Airport Police at Dublin Airport, members of the Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na (Irish National Police) have recovered a small quantity of explosive material from the luggage of a passenger who had flown into Dublin from that country on Saturday last,” a statement from the Department of Justice said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Okay, so it only took them four days, but the stuff was recovered.\u00a0 Nevermind that it was enough to bring down the plane.\u00a0 But, no harm done.\u00a0 The Times of London <\/a>has a slightly different story.<\/p>\n

They immediately raided the man\u2019s flat in an apartment block in central Dublin, the area was sealed off and residents and businesses were evacuated. The Slovak, who was still unaware of what was hidden in his luggage, was arrested and charged under the anti-terrorist Offences Against the State Act.<\/strong> The electrician\u2019s own Government was eventually able to persuade the Irish authorities that his protestations of innocence were genuine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well thank God Slovakian Diplomats are more effective than Slovakian Airport Security.\u00a0 The Times piece also has this gem:<\/p>\n

Eight pieces of contraband were planted\u00a0… in the baggage of innocent passengers … Seven were detected, but the eighth \u2014 90 grams (3oz) of the plastic explosive RDX hidden among the Slovak\u2019s personal effects \u2014 was not.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
