Man killed in Carson City officer involved shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – A man was killed in an officer involved shooting just after midnight on New Year\u2019s Day in Carson City.<\/p>\n

At around 10:34 p.m. on New Year\u2019s Eve, deputies with the Carson City Sheriff\u2019s Office were called to the 4000 block of Old Clear Creek Road for a domestic dispute. Witnesses told police that the suspect was not on the property but had made threats via text message that if law enforcement made contact with him, he was going to \u201cshoot it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

At around 11:54 p.m., the suspect returned to the area. Deputies attempted to make contact with him on Old Clear Creek Road and there was an immediate exchange of gunfire before the suspect barricaded himself inside his truck.<\/p>\n

Between 11:55 p.m. and 12:15 a.m., deputies attempted to negotiate with the suspect, who refused all instruction. Then at around 12:17 a.m., the suspect emerged from the truck reportedly armed with a handgun and a second shooting took place.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
