Deputies: Man kills 2 people during alleged break-in, shooting at his Madison home<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTwo men were shot and killed during an alleged home invasion in Jefferson County, Indiana, early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the homeowner called 911 just before 4 a.m., claiming he shot the men after they broke into his home on N. Bulldog Drive in Madison.<\/p>\n

Deputies arrived at the house minutes later and found two men dead. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified them as Dalton Keith Skirvin, 27, and Kaleb Adam Skirvin, 29, both from Madison.<\/p>\n

Charles Pruitt lives across the street and said this was not the first time someone broke into his neighbor’s property.<\/p>\n

“[He] called me a couple nights ago and told me that somebody broke into his garage,” Pruitt explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nBRADENTON, Fla. – A man opened fire on two home invaders on Thursday night, shooting one who later died as the other ran from the scene, according to the Manatee County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

It happened around 9 p.m. in the 6700 block of Hickory Hammock Cir. in the Lakewood Ranch area, MCSO said.<\/p>\n

At a news conference on Friday, Sheriff Rick Wells said the homeowner’s surveillance camera detected motion on the side of the home. He then spotted two masked men, told his wife to find a safe place and grabbed his gun, Wells said.<\/p>\n

Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed as Jorge Nestevan Flores-Toledo, a 27-year-old from Mexico. They say he also goes by the name of Anibal Miller-Valencia.<\/p>\n

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Miller-Valencia had an active warrant for parole violation and was considered armed and dangerous after being arrested in Oak Brook, Illinois, in 2023, for which he served four months in jail for residential burglary before being released on parole in November of this year.<\/p>\n

Miller-Valencia was shot multiple times and rushed to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he died Friday morning, according to Wells.<\/p>\n

“This is the state of Florida. If you want to break into someone’s home, you should expect to be shot,” Wells said.<\/p>\n

Wells said the homeowner’s surveillance camera detected motion on the side of the home. He then spotted two masked men, told his wife to find a safe place and grabbed his gun, Wells said.<\/p>\n

“He knew something bad was about to happen, and he didn\u2019t stall. He grabbed his firearm, told his wife to get into a safe spot,” said Wells.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
