This is one reality that many don&#8217;t see when they insist on being something or someone they&#8217;re not. We&#8217;ve seen this with those who fake or embellish military experience. Many among the transgenders want to believe that they are the &#8220;real deal&#8221;, producing legal or other documents to back their claims. They follow up this insistence with the expectation that they be treated as the gender they think they are.
