Rice, a former State Department and National Security Council official who is a foreign policy adviser to the Democratic candidate, said that \u201cfor political purposes, Senator Obama\u2019s opponents on the right have distorted and <strong>reframed<\/strong>\u201d his views. Mr. McCain and his surrogates have repeatedly stated that Mr. Obama would be willing to meet \u201cunconditionally\u201d with Mr. Ahmadinejad. But <strong>Dr. Rice said that this was not the case for Iran or any other so-called \u201crogue\u201d state<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2008\/05\/10\/history-re-written-obama-never-said-he-would-meet-personally-with-iran-without-precondition-says-advisor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allahpundit<\/a> finds more proof that it&#8217;s not the Right who initiated this whole thing;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Not only did the Prince of Peace say at the YouTube debate last July that he\u2019d meet personally and without precondition with Iran, he reaffirmed that position in November in an interview with \u2014 ta da \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/11\/02\/us\/politics\/01cnd-obama.html?_r=1&amp;ei=5088&amp;en=6e53bced62b78a88&amp;ex=1351656000&amp;oref=slogin&amp;partner=rssnyt&amp;emc=rss&amp;pagewanted=all\">the New York Times<\/a>, a fact, incredibly, that\u2019s omitted from today\u2019s article. Memory lane:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Senator Barack Obama said he would \u201cengage in aggressive <strong>personal<\/strong> diplomacy\u201d with Iran if elected president, and would offer economic inducements and a possible promise not to seek \u201cregime change\u201d if Iran stopped meddling in Iraq and cooperated on terrorism and nuclear issues\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Making clear that he planned to talk to Iran <strong>without preconditions<\/strong>, Mr. Obama emphasized further that \u201cchanges in behavior\u201d by Iran could possibly be rewarded with membership in the World Trade Organization, other economic benefits and security guarantees\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well here&#8217;s the YouTube video of the question and it was very specific about every rogue leader, and Obama&#8217;s answer was equally specific.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[youtube oSFSUbMWenU nolink]<\/p>\n<p>So this is Obama&#8217;s &#8220;new brand of politics&#8221; &#8211; same as the old brand of politics. He&#8217;s no different than Clinton or Kerry or Gore.
