As I write this, Daniel Penny’s trial is winding up – closing statements from prosecution and defense occurred Monday, after which it all goes to the jury. The prosecutor made no bones about the city’s stance.<\/p>\n

Manhattan prosecutors again accused Daniel Penny of failing to recognize the “humanity” of Jordan Neely during their closing arguments Monday, weeks after being accused of unfairly hinting at racial undertones in a case that does not involve hate crime charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If it was a hate crime why weren’t hate crime charges filed? This is in New York, a city famous for charging everything possible (makes the prosecutors’ records look better. Unless of course the person charged is from a protected class, like being an illegal immigrant.)<\/p>\n

She replayed video of Penny’s police interrogation, where he referred to Neely as a “crackhead” and told detectives, “You know these guys, they\u2019re pushing people in front of trains and stuff.”<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve all spoken dismissively about people like Jordan Neely,” she said. “Maybe we, too, have lumped them all together like this, but the context is very telling here. When the defendant is talking like this about Mr. Neely, he knows he very likely had killed him.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, no, Penny had not been told Neely had died. Matter of fact, one of the cops at the scene is recorded saying “he’s still breathing” repeatedly. Why let the truth get involved, anyway…<\/p>\n

My favorite bit is when the DA said:<\/p>\n

“Daniel Penny easily could have restrained Neely without choking him to death.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Neely was described as tall, muscular, ranting, and high. Good luck with that, lady – YOU try it single-handed.<\/p>\n

And of course everyone knows that Joe Biden finally succeeded at reuniting the country – everyone, Democrat and Republican, has gotten together behind condemning\u00a0 Joe as the lying sack o’ shit he is<\/del> for Hunter’s pardon.\u00a0 Well, except for Whoopi, who says:<\/p>\n

Goldberg stated that Biden \u201ccan do whatever he wants to\u201d because he is the president of the United States, leading Griffin to say that is a dangerous precedent.\u00a0 BPR Wire<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hope you remember saying that, Whoopi – we sure won’t forget it.<\/p>\n

Anyway, back to the main topic – Biden characterized the prosecution of Hunter as biased and unfair . Hunter, apparently, despite being found guilty of the felonies was claimed to be really just a victim of a biased, politically-based campaign by them evil ‘publicans. Here’s what the actual prosecutors involved had to say:<\/p>\n

“In total, eleven different [federal] judges appointed by six different presidents, including his father, considered and rejected the defendant’s claims, including his claims for selective and vindictive prosecution,” wrote prosecutor Leo Wise in a ten-page filing in Hunter Biden’s tax case on Monday.<\/p>\n

Without directly addressing President Biden’s criticism of the case as selective and unfair, the filing highlighted how Hunter Biden’s lawyers made “every conceivable argument” to dismiss the case and failed to provide evidence that prosecution was vindictive.<\/p>\n

“The court similarly found his vindictive prosecution claims unmoored from any evidence or even a coherent theory as to vindictiveness,” the filing said. “And there was none and never has been any evidence of vindictive or selective prosecution in this case. The defendant made similar baseless accusations in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Those claims were also rejected.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
