Bradford County man arrested after shooting at neighbor and fleeing<\/strong><\/p>\n

STARKE, Fla. (WCJB) – A Bradford County man was caught and arrested Saturday after shooting at a neighboring resident and fleeing from the scene.<\/p>\n

Derek Dean, 54, of Starke, was arrested Saturday after Bradford County Sheriff\u2019s Office officials say he came into a neighbor\u2019s yard and started shooting following a verbal altercation.<\/p>\n

The neighbor, then retaliated with their own firearm, causing Dean to flee the scene in a Jeep Cherokee.<\/p>\n

Police deputies found Dean and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Santa Ana officers shoot, kill man holding fake rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTwo officers with the Santa Ana Police Department shot and killed a man who was believed to be holding a loaded rifle on Sunday evening, officials say.<\/p>\n

However, police confirmed the rifle was later identified to be a fake.<\/p>\n

According to the department, officers received calls around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday about a man armed with a rifle and loading it in the area of Broadway and 2nd Street.<\/p>\n

Then at 6:22 p.m., SAPD issued a notice on X, formerly Twitter, alerting the public to stay clear of police activity in the same area.<\/p>\n

Police say two officers came close to the suspect and shot him.<\/p>\n

After the shooting took place, officials say the man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The department identified the suspect as a man in his early 30s, but did not immediately provide a name or known place of residence.<\/p>\n

The rifle was then taken in by police, who later identified it to be a fake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
