My thoughts are also with our Akron police officers and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shooting occurred after 11 p.m. Thursday when two Akron police officers heard gunshots at Vernon Odom Boulevard and East Avenue and investigated the noise.<\/p>\n<p>A short time later, they found a teen with a loaded firearm, police said in a news release issued Friday morning. One officer discharged his weapon. The other officer never fired.<\/p>\n<p>The officers administered emergency first aid until emergency medical services arrived to transport the 15-year-old to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>1 \/ 0 \/ 0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/news\/jazmir-tucker-15-fatally-shot-031158001.html\">Yahoo<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pastor fights off Thanksgiving would-be burglar with jiu-jitsu training<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Zoe Sottile<br \/>\nWhen a would-be burglar broke in to a California church on Thanksgiving day, he encountered an unexpected obstacle: A pastor, trained in martial arts and determined to defend his house of worship.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Nick Neves came to First Family Church in Antioch early on Thursday morning after an alarm went off, he told CNN.<\/p>\n<p>When he arrived, he discovered \u201ca smashed window and a door propped open.\u201d A man had used an axe to break a church window and access the building, the Antioch Police Department said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I was going into the door, the perpetrator came out with a handful of our goods, and I stopped him, and I told him he was essentially under citizen\u2019s arrest, that the police would be there, and he needs to stop and wait for them,\u201d Neves, who has been involved with the church since 2005, told CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he wasn\u2019t having that,\u201d the pastor said. \u201cSo he tried to run, and I restrained him, and he began to fight with me.
