\nPolice say man claims he was defending himself from a truck driver who assaulted him<\/em><\/p>\n

\nCHATTANOOGA (WDEF) \u2013 Police now say a traffic confrontation led to the fatal shooting on I 24 yesterday.<\/p>\n

Their preliminary report says a semi-truck cut off a car and blocked it against a construction barrier near Germantown Road.<\/p>\n

Police say the truck driver got out and began assaulting the car driver.<\/p>\n

The sedan driver then shot the truck driver and called 911.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Victim shot in French Quarter wrestles gun from shooter, fires back, New Orleans police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA person who was beaten and shot in the French Quarter early Wednesday morning managed to wrestle the gun away from the attacker, firing back and wounding him, according to the New Orleans Police Department.<\/p>\n

The victim was near the 200 block of Decatur Street when an armed man approached and opened fire, wounding the victim and dragging “him out of sight of cameras to physically assault him,” police said.<\/p>\n

During a fight on the ground, police said the victim was able to get hold of the gun and shoot the man.<\/p>\n

The shooting was reported to police at 12:37 a.m. The alleged attacker, 38-year-old Justin Webber, was apprehended on scene and both individuals were transported to a local hospital, police said.<\/p>\n

Once Webber is released from medical care, police said he will be booked with counts of aggravated second-degree battery, illegal use of weapons, illegal possession of a firearm in an alcoholic beverage outlet, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
