Mossberg Maverick 88<\/a><\/p>\n Man shot and killed by bystander who saw him fighting with woman on Chicago’s South Side, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n By Adam Harrington At noon, the 26-year-old man and the woman, age unknown, were quarreling on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 56th Street\u2014just west of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and the park of Washington Park.<\/p>\n The other man, 23, happened to be driving by at the time, and he saw the quarrel and got out of his car to intervene, police said.<\/p>\n The older man pulled a gun, police said. The younger man took out his own gun and shot the older man in the chest, police said.<\/p>\n The older man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said. The younger man remained on the scene and was taken into custody.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Illinois- Land of the FOID and the home of the CCL.<\/p>\n Sheriff: Cowden man fatally shot Friday invading home near Herrick<\/strong><\/p>\n An early morning home invasion in rural Herrick turned deadly Friday when the intruder was shot by an occupant and later died, according to Shelby County Sheriff Brian McReynolds.<\/p>\n \u201cAt 5:25 a.m., the Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Office received a call of a home invasion in progress at a rural Herrick address within Shelby County,\u201d McReynolds said in a press release. \u201cThe suspect was identified as Wade M. Barnes, 19 years old, of Cowden. Barnes was known by the Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Office due to prior involvements, including a current criminal case.\u201d<\/p>\n During the break-in to the residence, Barnes was threatening the occupants. An occupant armed themselves and issued verbal warnings for Bames to stop, according to McReynolds.<\/p>\n \u201cBarnes continued into the residence, ignoring the warning,\u201d McReynolds said. \u201cShots were fired in the direction of Barnes, striking him. EMS was dispatched. EMS transported to Good Shepherd Hospital, in Shelbyville, where he succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at 7:16 a.m.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
