\nPolice say 16-year-old used toy gun that was recovered from crime scene<\/em><\/p>\n

\nA toy gun-wielding teenager was shot in Philadelphia on Sunday night after allegedly attempting to rob a man who was carrying a loaded gun.<\/p>\n

Police said the 16-year-old and another suspect approached a man and his girlfriend on the 2200 block of Emerald Street at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to FOX 29 in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

One of the suspects allegedly pressed a weapon into the man\u2019s back before demanding his keys, wallet and other valuables.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to the suspects, the man they were robbing was armed with a legal firearm, police said, and he opened fire on the two suspects, striking the 16-year-old in the leg.<\/p>\n

A preliminary investigation found the weapon used by the teenager was a toy gun, which was recovered at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homeowner, 76, shoots alleged trespasser in Fort Worth, police say<\/strong>

\nAn altercation early Monday led to a Fort Worth homeowner shooting a man who was allegedly trespassing on his property, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded shortly before 3:30 a.m. to a house in the 2600 block of Museum Way near Picasso Drive.<\/p>\n

The 76-year-old homeowner told police a man came onto his property and assaulted him, so he shot him, according to a news release. The 27-year-old man who was shot was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.<\/p>\n

Police said the younger man threw a rock at the homeowner and the homeowner shot the man in the leg, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
