CCL holder shoots intruder at home in South Shore<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCHICAGO – A woman shot an intruder at her home in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Police said a 36-year-old man was shot in the leg around 10:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of East 69th Street.<\/p>\n

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition. The man was trying to break in when he was confronted by the homeowner, according to police.<\/p>\n

The woman, who is a licensed concealed carry holder, fired her weapon in self-defense.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sheriff\u2019s Office: No charges in fatal shooting after home invasion in Sweetwater<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSWEETWATER, Tenn. (WATE) \u2014 The Monroe County Sheriff\u2019s Office has shared there will be no charges filed after a home invasion resulted in a fatal shooting on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Sheriff Tommy Jones originally shared that deputies were dispatched to the invasion that happened at a home on Brunner Road in Sweetwater early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

In a release on Friday, the sheriff\u2019s office said the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Deputies had been dispatched to a home on Ogle Road earlier that morning in reference to a man having a \u201cmental status change.\u201d The man\u2019s family previously told deputies they were concerned because he had previously entered random houses.<\/p>\n

At approximately 6:38 p.m., the sheriff\u2019s office said deputies were then dispatched to the home on Brunner Road because of a reported home invasion. The homeowner had been woken up by his dogs barking and lights being on inside of the home. When the homeowner went to investigate, the he found the unknown man and escorted him outside at gun point while waiting for law enforcement to arrive, the sheriff\u2019s office explained.<\/p>\n

While they were waiting, MCSO said the man shoved the homeowner down and re-entered the home, locking the homeowner out. Because there were other people in the home who were being placed in danger, the homeowner discharged his firearm, striking the man, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
