\nPreliminary evidence suggests a Riverton, Wyoming, homeowner shot and wounded a man in his 20s late Friday night. The man was allegedly trying to burglarize a home near the town\u2019s City Park.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nA Riverton, Wyoming, homeowner appears to have shot a man attempting a burglary on the home Friday night, police say.<\/p>\n

The Riverton Police Department is investigating the incident and asking anyone with tips to come forward.<\/p>\n

RPD officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. Friday to a home on 900 E. Park Ave. near the Riverton City Park to a report of an attempted burglary with shots fired, says a statement the agency dispatched early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

There they found a man in his 20s outside the home with an apparent gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

The \u201capparent intruder\u201d was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, says the statement.<\/p>\n

A person on scene reported seeing the man trying to break into the home, and the homeowner is cooperating with the investigation, the statement says.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAccording to the Texas City police chief, the officer first tried to use a Taser, but when that didn’t work, the officer fired one shot.<\/em><\/p>\n

TEXAS CITY, Texas \u2014 An off-duty officer shot a shoplifting suspect in the parking lot of a Texas City Buc-ee’s late Friday night.<\/p>\n

It happened a little before 11 p.m. According to Texas City Police Chief Landis Cravens, the off-duty officer, who works for the Texas City Police Department, was working security at the Buc-ee’s. That officer tried to stop a person accused of stealing from the business. Cravens said the suspect resisted, leading to a struggle.<\/p>\n

At one point, Cravens said the officer used a Taser to try to take the suspect into custody, but that didn\u2019t work. The officer then shot the suspect one time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
