\nALBUQUERQUE, N.M. \u2013 It\u2019s the makings of a nightmare, but when a local veteran woke up recently, it was his terrifying reality. <\/p>\n

Danny Ricketts says a person with a knife tried to get into his window, but he was also armed. Ricketts says he grabbed the gun from his nightstand, shot the intruder, and then called police. <\/p>\n

When police got to his apartment near San Mateo and Zuni early Monday morning, they found the intruder down the street. <\/p>\n

Ricketts wishes it was all a bad dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cI looked at the window and I didn\u2019t see any blood and I didn\u2019t see any bodies. So I thought I missed initially and I was kind of grateful at that,\u201d said Ricketts. <\/p>\n

He woke up early in the morning to his bedroom window slamming. <\/p>\n

\u201cI could see it was a knife sticking under the window, sort of wiggling back and forth, and the window was coming up,\u201d Ricketts said. <\/p>\n

With his PTSD, the Vietnam War veteran keeps a weapon close by. <\/p>\n

\u201cI keep a pistol on my nightstand under a hat. I reached and got it and I said, I still don\u2019t know quite what I said, \u2018What the f**k you doing, get the h*ll away from here\u2019 something like that,\u201d said Ricketts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Glad Mr. Ricketts was able to defend himself and noting good comes from talking to the press.<\/p>\n

Worker servicing ATM reportedly fires shots at several robbery suspects, scares them off in Cypress<\/strong><\/p>\n

CYPRESS, Texas \u2013 Deputies were called to a Cypress bank after several men attempted to rob workers at an ATM machine, according to Harris County Sherriff Ed Gonzalez.<\/p>\n

The incident was reported Wednesday morning at a bank, located at 9649 Barker Cypress Road.<\/p>\n

Deputies said the men attempted to rob workers that were servicing an ATM machine and one of the workers possibly fired shots at the suspects.<\/p>\n

The men reportedly fled the area.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
