The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to LCPD.<\/p>\n<p>LCPD said they are not releasing the man\u2019s name until \u201chis next of kin have been notified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary information from the investigation indicates the 44-year-old man was armed with a knife and tried to force his way into an apartment.<\/p>\n<p>A 24-year-old resident of the apartment, who was armed with a handgun, discharged at least one round that struck the man, according to LCPD.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktsm.com\/news\/police-investigating-shooting-death-in-las-cruces\/\">KTSM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wrong house.
