Resident shoots and kills man suspected of breaking into Oceanside home<\/strong>
\nOceanside Police investigating shooting as potential self-defense incident.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nOCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) \u2013 A resident shot and killed a man suspected in a home invasion attempt in Oceanside, according to police.<\/p>\n

Oceanside Police said officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Diamond Circle at around 7:22 pm. Monday due to a reported assault with a deadly weapon incident.<\/p>\n

Police said two residents — a male and a female — were inside the house when an unknown man armed with a rock and a stick entered the backyard and then made his way through a bedroom sliding door. Police noted the female resident was in the bedroom when the intruder entered.<\/p>\n

According to police, the intruder threw the rock at the male resident and hit him in the face.<\/p>\n

The injured resident grabbed a gun and fired at least three shots, striking the intruder once in the chest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

CCPD makes arrest after shooting on Oak Forest Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) \u2014 The Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) has arrested one man on multiple charges after an altercation led to the suspect being shot Monday night.<\/p>\n

CCPD says officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Oak Forest Drive around 10:00 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived, witnesses told them that one adult male had come to the residence uninvited and began a verbal argument and assault on an adult male.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, as the assault continued, witnesses said that the victim shot the man who attacked him.<\/p>\n

CCPD says the suspect, 51-year-old Diego Holland, was charged with battery, burglary in the 1st degree and two counts of cruelty to children in the 3rd degree after detectives determined that he was the aggressor.<\/p>\n

No charges are expected to be filed against the victim, who detectives determined acted in self-defense.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
