{"id":1567,"date":"2008-04-25T11:35:06","date_gmt":"2008-04-25T15:35:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=1567"},"modified":"2008-04-26T22:48:30","modified_gmt":"2008-04-27T02:48:30","slug":"al-sadr-cries-uncle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=1567","title":{"rendered":"al Sadr cries &#8220;Uncle!&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/muqtada_al-sadr_2.jpg\" title=\"muqtada_al-sadr_2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/muqtada_al-sadr_2.jpg\" alt=\"muqtada_al-sadr_2.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Muqtada al Sadr had a sermon read by another cleric in Sadr City that called for an end to Iraqi-on-Iraqi violence (<a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20080425\/ap_on_re_mi_ea\/iraq\" target=\"_blank\">Associated Press<\/a> link);<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called for an end to clashes between his militia fighters and Iraqi troops, saying Friday that his threat of an &#8220;open war&#8221; applied only to U.S.-led foreign forces.<\/p>\n<p>In a sermon read by an aide during Friday prayers in Baghdad&#8217;s militia stronghold of Sadr City, the cleric also urged Iraqi soldiers and policemen &#8220;not to support the occupiers in combating your brothers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Al-Sadr issued a &#8220;final warning&#8221; to the government Saturday to halt its crackdown against the Mahdi Army or face an &#8220;open war until liberation.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The old &#8220;I didn&#8217;t mean you guys&#8221; ploy. I wonder if the Mahdi Army noticed that he sent the sermon to be read by someone else while he&#8217;s stretched out in the Tehran Comfort Inn watching Imam-on-goat porn. We, here in the West, know that every time al Sadr&#8217;s army is getting their butts handed to them he calls for a ceasefire.
