Well. in THIS week&#8217;s version:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The Army announced today that it will suspend its use of temporary promotions for noncommissioned officers whose new rank was held up for unfinished education requirements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">NCOs currently on temporary promotions will see those promotions become permanent, beginning in June, according to the release.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2024\/05\/02\/army-suspends-nco-temporary-promotion-policy\/?utm_source=sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=army-dnr\">Army Times<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an idea: make up a decent correspondence course so motivated soldiers can do it in absentia even if school slots aren&#8217;t available. Critical tasks can be rated at the unit level (after all, their NCO raters are supposed to know it, too, right?) It said that its employees had little to any interaction with the three plaintiffs in the case and that any liability for their mistreatment belonged to the government, not CACI.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-military\/2024\/05\/02\/judge-declares-mistrial-after-jury-deadlocks-in-abu-ghraib-trial\/?utm_source=sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=army-dnr\">Military Times<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Allegations included that CACI blokes incited soldiers to &#8220;soften up&#8221; captives, that one was photographed with a crouching captive in an &#8220;unauthorized stress position&#8221; and more. The jury deadlocked so it is a mistrial. The new policy is also punitive, meaning leaders who do not abide by it could face legal or other disciplinary ramifications. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/daily-news\/2024\/04\/29\/army-division-bars-leaders-bothering-their-soldiers-after-work-hours.html?ESRC=army_240430.nl&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=army&amp;utm_campaign=20240430\">Military Times II<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I have mixed feelings on this &#8211; some things DO deserve an earlier heads-up, but I have also worked with inconsiderate jerks (especially folks clueless that their time zone is &#8216;way off of yours) who call at silly hours whenever it occurs to them to discuss really unimportant things.\u00a0 Not sure a little common sense wouldn&#8217;t have been called for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
