In 2022, a couple of teens attacked a 73-year-old with a cone. Video shows the old man attempting to get away from a few teenagers when one of them hits him on the head with a cone. The 73-year-old fell, got up, and tried get away from them. A second teenager picks the cone up and hits him on the head after he disappears from the video.\u00a0 He was pronounced dead at the hospital. One of the teenagers was set free and the other was sentenced to time served plus house arrest. Seven teenagers were involved in this incident.<\/p>\n

A group of teens who fatally beat a 73-year-old man with a traffic cone in 2022 have been “set free” with a slap on the wrist by a judge.<\/p>\n

Per Philly Crime Update on X:<\/p>\n

“Last month, Judge Barbara McDermott tossed the charges against the now 16 yr old boy,” the account explained.<\/p>\n

“The teen girl, was sentenced to 5 years, with time served and released to house arrest.”<\/p>\n

James Lambert Jr.’s niece called the outcome of the case a “slap on the wrist.”<\/p>\n

She also stated Lambert was “a gem” in the city of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Social media was set alight following the outcomes of the case.<\/p>\n

“Why don’t criminals suffer any consequences for their actions?” asked one.<\/p>\n

“If those kids were white they wouldn’t see the light of day until their 40th birthday,” said another.<\/p>\n

The teen boy remained in the adult court system, while the girl’s case was moved to the juvenile court system.<\/p>\n

Lambert’s niece, Tania Stephens, said:<\/p>\n

“I am not pleased with the decision the courts made, and my family is not pleased as well.”<\/p>\n

“They put out a light,” she later added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
