APD: Man tries to break into off-duty officer\u2019s apartment, falls 3 stories after being shot at<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nATLANTA \u2014 Investigators say an off-duty Atlanta police officer fired at a man who tried to break into the officer\u2019s apartment.<\/p>\n

It happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday at the Dwell at the View apartment complex at 1620 Hollywood Road NW.<\/p>\n

Police say the officer, who was home and off-duty at the time, grabbed a gun and fired toward the man.<\/p>\n

The suspect was not hit, but police say he suffered non-life threatening injuries after he fell three floors to the ground.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nINDIANAPOLIS \u2014 An attempted home break-in led to a man being shot and wounded on Indy\u2019s near east side.<\/p>\n

Just after 5 a.m. Tuesday on Forest Avenue, police were called following a confrontation between a homeowner and a would-be thief that turned violent.<\/p>\n

The homeowner admitted he shot the suspect, who was trying to steal his generator.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I confront him about my generator, he goes into his pocket like he\u2019s about to pull a weapon, and I shot him in the leg to make him stop,\u201d said Alfred Burdine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
