\nNASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting at an apartment complex in Madison, Metro Police said.<\/p>\n

Officers were called to the Gibson Creek Apartments around 6 p.m. Friday after receiving multiple reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n

The incident started as a fight between two groups of people that live in the apartment complex, detectives said. The victim went to his apartment to get a gun, returned to the groups, and exchanged gunfire with one other person from the other group that was standing on their porch.<\/p>\n

The victim was shot twice and taken to Skyline Medical Center where he is expected to survive. His age has not been released.<\/p>\n

Metro Police said everyone involved in the shooting remained on scene. One group of people is cooperating with the investigation, but the victim and his associates are not talking with detectives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Suspect in overnight Elkmont burglary dead<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nELKMONT, Ala. (WHNT) \u2014 A suspect in an overnight home burglary in Elkmont is dead after he was shot by the homeowner, according to the Limestone County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Deputies with the sheriff\u2019s office responded to a report of a burglary around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday at a home in the 17000 block of Morris Road. The homeowner reported they were woken up by someone who was, \u201cviolently attempting to gain entry\u201d into their home.<\/p>\n

LCSO says the owner of the home armed himself and waited for deputies to arrive, but before they made it the scene, the offender kicked in the door and entered the home unlawfully.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
