Woman who shot and killed boyfriend on Indy’s northeast side says she suffered years of abuse from him<\/strong>
\nThe woman said she shot and killed her boyfriend while he was attacking her inside her apartment Thursday night.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nINDIANAPOLIS \u2014 As police lights illuminate an apartment complex on the city’s northeast side following a fatal shooting, brighter light shines on a bigger issue.<\/p>\n

Domestic violence.<\/p>\n

“I just know what he’s capable of doing and last night something just told me, ‘OK, I just need to protect myself,'” said a woman who was being abused by her boyfriend but did not want to be identified.<\/p>\n

The woman said she shot and killed her boyfriend while he was attacking her inside the apartment Thursday night.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Houston shooting: 1 dead after robbery attempt on Maxwell, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

HOUSTON – Houston police say a man who was shot to death early Saturday morning may have been involved in a robbery.<\/p>\n

Police initially responded to a report of a robbery and a shooting in the 5600 block of Maxwell around 1 a.m.<\/p>\n

Police learned that a woman and her friend had just come back to the apartment complex after eating, and the friend got out of the woman\u2019s pickup truck to go up to his apartment.<\/p>\n

Police say the woman was in her pickup truck getting ready to leave when two people reportedly came up with pistols and pulled her out of the vehicle at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

The woman\u2019s friend heard what was happening from his apartment and came out with a pistol, police say.<\/p>\n

According to police, there was an exchange of gunfire.<\/p>\n

Police say the man who was killed is believed to have been the man who was robbing the woman. Authorities say the other person who was him took off running.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
