Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced his plans to set up a multinational coalition to safeguard Red Sea shipping called Operation Prosperity Guardian.<\/p>\n

During a trip to the Middle East, he said the operations would be joined by Britain, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain.<\/p>\n

Except France Italy and Spain declined to participate. Greece and Great Britian are sending a ship apiece, and the Netherlands went all out by allotting two staff officers to the effort. I was unable to determine what support the Seychelles are providing.<\/p>\n
