Seems Mr. Veracity , Joe Biden,\u00a0 recently claimed he has driven at what most folks would call high speeds on the Secret Service’s own test track?<\/p>\n
\u201cI got a Porsche up to 171 mph,\u201d Biden says while explaining how launch control works to O\u2019Brien. Biden didn\u2019t specify which Porsche model he was driving, but we\u2019d bet it\u2019s likely a 911. Of course, plenty of other Porsches are capable of 171 mph, so we don\u2019t really<\/i> know, but if any White House correspondents are reading, we wouldn\u2019t mind if you asked Biden next time you see him.<\/p>\n
In addition to Biden enjoying a Porsche at high speed, he said that he\u2019s done the same with his 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, reaching 132 mph on the Secret Service airstrip test track. Biden even said that Jay Leno offered to buy his Corvette from him at one point for $144,000, but that he had to turn him down.<\/p>\n
The old Corvette was a wedding gift from Biden\u2019s father, who ran a Chevy dealership. The green convertible carries a 327 V8 making 350 horsepower and a four-speed manual gearbox.\u00a0 Autoblog<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
My first thought was that ol’ Joe was maybe exaggerating a tad – after all, the stock 327 is listed at only 300hp (L79 engine) and that would normally be a 120mp car and some skepticism is allowed. However, he has had an engine replacement and his stock 300hp ‘vette now sports 350-360 hp depending on the source, which will help even if the gears remain the stock 1:1 in fourth.\u00a0 The 171 in a Porsche? Easily attained…but I question whether the Secret Service would allow him to do that on their track. How would they explain THAT if anything went wrong?<\/p>\n

President Joe Biden announced Friday he’s issuing a federal pardon to every American who has used marijuana in the past, including those who were never arrested or prosecuted.<\/p>\n
The sweeping pardon applies to all U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents in possession of marijuana for their personal use and those convicted of similar federal crimes. It also forgives pot users in the District of Columbia. It does not apply to individuals who have been jailed for selling the drug, which is illegal under federal law, or other marijuana offenses such as driving under the influence of an illegal substance.\u00a0 USA Today<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The article goes on to say the pardon does not apply to folks who violated state law, and that people will need to apply for a certification of the pardon.<\/p>\n
This move was hailed by the Congressional Black Caucus, who say that drug laws disparately affect minorities. (One wonders whether the high conviction and imprisonment rates are influenced by who commits more crimes. Think the whole problem is larger than just skin color.)<\/p>\n
Glad to see all our woes are solved, the border is secure, Islamist and Chinese extremists are banned from our country, and Joe has time to do the important stuff.<\/p>\n
