Springdale police investigating deadly shooting at nightclub<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSPRINGDALE, Ark. \u2014
\nAccording to Sergeant Matt Ray with Springdale police, officers were called to Zabana nightclub around 2 a.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived they found 21-year-old Luis Steven Ogando Lopez with two gunshot wounds. Ogando Lopez was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

According to Sgt. Ray, the other party involved was a security guard who worked for the nightclub. Ray said the guard remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The guard was taken to the police station for questioning.<\/p>\n

Ray said the initial investigation revealed that Ogando Lopez was kicked out of the establishment after causing issues. They also said he had a knife with him in the nightclub. Ogando Lopez then went to a vehicle and retrieved a firearm.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To his credit Mr. Lopez correctly surmised his knife was inadequate in a gun fight. He failed to recognize the importance of being the first one there actually armed with one.<\/p>\n

\nBCSO said Elloy Carrillo Jr. ignored deputies’ orders to drop his gun so they tased him. He then retrieved the gun and opened fire on them, BCSO said.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nBRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A man is in a hospital after a shootout with deputies in Brazoria County Sunday night.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff\u2019s office, a man and woman were fighting over a gun around 9 p.m. at a home on Oak Crest Drive in Manvel.<\/p>\n

They said Elloy Carrillo Jr. ignored deputies’ orders to drop his gun so they tased him. BCSO said Carillo managed to retrieve his weapon and started firing at deputies so they shot him multiple times.<\/p>\n

He survived and was taken to a Houston-area hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n

No deputies were injured.<\/p>\n

Carillo was out on parole for a 1998 murder conviction in Harris County, according to BCSO.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
