Oil Refinery Goes Up In Flames Inside Iran<\/h3>\n

An oil refinery inside Iran went up in flames over the weekend, triggering several massive explosions.<\/p>\n

The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA, said that all 18 reservoirs at the refinery in eastern Iran\u2019s Birjand special economic zone caught fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe initial stages of the fire consumed 1.5 million litres of fuel,\u201d Iranian officials said.<\/p>\n

The Jerusalem Post reported that Iranian officials were leaning toward letting the fire burn itself out because it was too dangerous for firefighters to get close enough to attempt to extinguish it.<\/p>\n

There was no indication of what caused the fire or whether it was an accident or sabotage. Iran had not yet tried to blame anyone.<\/p>\n

While it could have been an accident, it\u2019s worth noting that the fire \u2014 which easily caused millions of dollars in damage \u2014 comes as Iranian-backed terrorists in Yemen have attacked Israeli shipping vessels over the past few weeks, causing damage to the ships and hijacking another.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
