\nShooting happened along John Young Parkway<\/em><\/p>\n

A man was shot Wednesday night at a Wawa gas station in Orlando, according to the police department.<\/p>\n

Police told News 6 that the shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. inside the Wawa store John Young Parkway at the intersection of Silver Star Road.<\/p>\n

The Orlando Police Department said a man, identified as 45-year-old Derek T. Wilson, went up to individuals in the store \u201cin a threatening and erratic manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victim was acting in self defense when he shot at the suspect. Multiple witnesses on scene confirmed this,\u201d police said in a release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nVictim beaten by group of suspects before opening fire, police say<\/em><\/p>\n

A resident of an apartment building in Fort Lauderdale\u2019s Flagler Village neighborhood shot and wounded a home invasion suspect Thursday afternoon, police said.<\/p>\n

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the shooting happened at around noon at the Progresso Point Apartments, located at 619 N. Andrews Ave.<\/p>\n

Investigators said several men entered a unit and attacked the man living there.<\/p>\n

During a struggle, police said the victim was able to retrieve a gun and shoot one of the suspects. That man was in serious condition after being beaten during the attack.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
