East Alabama man shot to death in argument over dog, sheriff\u2019s office says<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Wellington man was shot Wednesday morning after he had allegedly attacked another man while in an altercation over a dog, officials say.<\/p>\n

Calhoun County Sheriff\u2019s Office Lt. Falon Hurst said that around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, a 911 call had been placed from a landowner stating that he had shot a man that had attacked him on his property.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival to the property at the 4000 block of Old Sulphur Springs Road in Wellington, first responders found that the man\u2019s neighbor, Thomas Farmer, 47, of Wellington, had died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man arrested for choking ex-wife; she stabs in self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nResponding to a domestic call on Oct. 21, officers with the Tahlequah Police Department arrested a local man who had reportedly been stabbed by his ex-wife after he choked her in front of their children.<\/p>\n

According to reports, authorities responded to the Wheeler Circle residence, where the woman told police the suspect was visiting with the children. She claimed that her ex-husband made her end her relationship with her boyfriend, and when she asked him why he didn\u2019t leave his girlfriend, he reportedly got mad and hit her in front of the children.<\/p>\n

She reported that he then threw her on the ground and put his hands around her neck. She saw a screwdriver on the ground and stabbed the suspect and kicked him off of her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
