A movement to appear fair? Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel that will focus on Hunter Biden related allegations. Previously, Hunter Biden’s plea deal was rejected when the judge saw that the deal protected Hunter Biden from being brought up on charges related not registering as a foreign agent as he conducted overseas business deals. Donald Trump points out a potential kink in this development.<\/p>\n

“Crooked Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and the entire Biden Crime Family have been protected by the Justice Department for decades even though there is overwhelming evidence and credible testimony detailing their wrongdoing of lying to the American people and selling out the country to foreign enemies for the Biden Cartel’s own financial gain,” Trump said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“If the special counsel is truly independent – even though he failed to bring proper charges after a four-year investigation and he appears to be trying to move the case to a more Democrat-friendly venue – he will quickly conclude that Joe Biden, his troubled son Hunter, and their enablers, including the media, which colluded with the 51 intelligence officers who knowingly misled the public about Hunter’s laptop, should face the required consequences.”<\/p>\n

In a surprise Friday press conference, Garland announced Weiss’ appointment, stating, “In February 2018, after being nominated by the former President and confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Weiss was sworn in as the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware. Mr. Weiss had been a career prosecutor, having served previously in the office for more than a decade. Beginning in 2019, Mr. Weiss in his capacity as US attorney and along with federal law enforcement partners, began investigating allegations of certain criminal conduct by, among others, Robert Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n

“That investigation has been recently referenced in federal criminal proceedings in the district of Delaware. And as noted in those proceedings, and other public statements by Mr. Weiss’s office, that investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

Garland later added, “As the extraordinary circumstances relating to this matter, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint him as special counsel. This appointment confirms my commitment to provide Mr. Weiss all the resources he requests. It also reaffirms that Mr. Weiss has the authority he needs to conduct a thorough investigation and to continue to take the steps he deems appropriate independently, based only on the facts and the law.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
