You may recall Jackobie Timblin – we wrote about him here<\/a>. He pretended to be in the Marines while he was in prison, instead.<\/p>\n

Well, for those of you in the food service industry…<\/p>\n

Karma has no menu. You get served what you deserve.<\/em><\/p>\n

One thing about them tables – they always turn.<\/em><\/p>\n

It seems ol’ Jackobie has been served a dish consisting of three years of prison. It’s not like he hasn’t seen a “tour of duty” in prison, so he may feel right at home.<\/p>\n

Washington County stolen valor case, man sentenced to prison<\/strong><\/a>

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. – A Wisconsin man has been sentenced to three years in prison in a Washington County stolen valor case.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office said 35-year-old Jakobie Timblin of Richland Center pretended to be a Marine \u2013 telling his girlfriend he was deployed five times. The sheriff said Timblin purchased a fake uniform and medals online, and while he was “deployed,” he was actually in prison.<\/p>\n

Timblin pleaded guilty to false statement military service (commit crime), and a charge of theft (false representation) was dismissed. He was also sentenced to three years of extended supervision.<\/p>\n

According to the Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Timblin started communicating with the victim online in 2015. The next year, someone purporting to be Timblin’s mother reached out to see whether the victim would write to Timblin overseas, where he was serving in the Marines.<\/p>\n

The sheriff said the victim communicated with Timblin through letters for the next several years, and in 2019, they met in person and started dating.<\/p>\n

That same year, the victim was contacted by someone claiming to be Timblin\u2019s captain, according to the sheriff, who said he was putting together a gift for Timblin based on the “heroic work he did overseas” and asked for a loan that would be reimbursed by the Department of Defense. The victim wrote a check for $5,000.<\/p>\n

As par for the course, there was money involved. They never seem to prosecute and deliver stiff sentences just for the stolen valor claims, they seem to place emphasis on the swindling of money.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There was also an article in The Marine Corps Times about Timblin.<\/p>\n

Timblin began communicating with a woman online in 2015, according to a May news release by the Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office. In 2016, someone pretending to be Timblin\u2019s mother contacted the woman asking her to send letters to him because he was supposedly a Marine serving overseas.<\/p>\n

The truth was that Timblin was in Wisconsin prison for an armed-robbery conviction, according to the news release.<\/p>\n

After years of exchanging letters with the woman, Timblin got out of prison in 2019 and began dating her, keeping up the guise that he was a Marine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
