He immediately flipped on his lights and pulled the speeding car over.<\/p>\n<p>As he walked up, he noticed two co-workers in the unmarked Dodge Charger. One of them was the Deputy Chief of the Sheriff\u2019s Office Michael Yarbrough.<\/p>\n<p>He returned to his vehicle after the discussion and made a phone call to another deputy saying, \u201cGuess who I just pulled over. The chief deputy, driving a f\u2014king Dodge Charger. A souped-up Dodge Charger belonging to the sheriff\u2019s office. I just clocked this son b\u2013ch at 96 in a 35.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While debating on whether to write a ticket or not, he ultimately said he didn\u2019t like the Deputy Chief much anyway and wrote the ticket.<\/p>\n<p>The county has suspended the Chief for a week without pay over the incident. They took life-saving measures, but were not able to revive him, and the man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect\u2019s death is being investigated by the Racine Co. Sheriff\u2019s Office, as state law requires such incidents to be handled by an outside agency.<\/p>\n<p>The police department concluded by adding its thoughts are with the law enforcement officers involved in the shooting and the family of the suspect. Lake City is about 60 miles west of Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, officers discovered the ATM to be missing from its foundation near the drive-through. Drag marks could be seen on the asphalt leading through the Lake City Mall parking lot heading in a northeasterly direction,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn-scene officers relayed the information to other responding officers. An officer observed a white utility truck traveling north, dragging an ATM on NW Bascom Norris Drive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ATMs can weigh as much as 1,800 pounds, so the suspects decided not to attempt a high-speed escape. Instead, they jumped out and ran as patrol cars closed in, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>A photo shared by police shows the truck was left on the shoulder of the road, doors open and a heavily damaged ATM at its rear. Northwest Bascomb Norris Drive is about a half-mile from the bank.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth occupants fled on foot into a wooded area,\u201d police said. \u201cThe Florida Highway Patrol\u2019s Drone Unit and the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office\u2019s Air Unit provided additional support in an attempt to locate the individuals in the heavily wooded area. News<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Man Drowns Fleeing Cops Who Weren&#8217;t Even Looking For Him<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>A Greenville, South Carolina, man drowned Sunday after running from police who were serving a warrant for someone else, according to a statement from the Greenville County Sheriff\u2019s Office (GCSO).<\/p>\n<p>Deputies from the GSCO arrived Sunday afternoon at a home near Lake Cunningham to execute a warrant for an individual who failed to make a court appearance, according to the statement. A different man, later identified as Chuck Gilbert Shelton Jr., then fled for unknown reasons and was seen swimming briefly in the lake before disappearing underwater, per the GCSO.<\/p>\n<p>Shelton was last scene above water about 15 to 20 feet from the dock, according to local NBC affiliate WYFF. Deputies jumped into the water to try and rescue Shelton before deploying the GSCO dive team, who found his body, according to the statement. Chief Guterres Warns \u2018Era of Global Boiling\u2019 Is Here<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. United Nations chief Antonio Guterres on Thursday night rolled out some of his most apocalyptic climate rhetoric to date declaring \u201cthe era of global warming has ended, the era of global boiling has arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to lament how \u201cterrifying\u201d it is seeing children \u201cswept away by monsoon rains, families running from the flames, workers collapsing in scorching heat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The veteran Portuguese socialist painted his picture of a world in peril during a streamed speech from U.N. headquarters in New York, returning once more to a theme of climate doom he has used almost without respite since he took office.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cshort of a mini ice age\u201d over coming days, some scientists estimate July 2023 would shatter records across the board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClimate change is here. It is terrifying, and it is just the beginning,\u201d Guterres outlined. \u201cThe era of global warming has ended. The era of global boiling has arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe consequences are clear and they are tragic \u2014 children swept away by monsoon rains, families running from the flames, workers collapsing in scorching heat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor vast parts of North America, Asia, Africa and Europe, it is a cruel summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guterres spoke as a separate analysis for the month, published Friday by Leipzig University climate scientist Karsten Haustein, estimated July could possibly finish 0.2 degrees Celsius warmer than the 2019 record.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Haustein predicted not only would that make it the warmest month on record, but potentially in \u201cthousands if not tens of thousands of years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe may have to go back all the way to the Eemian warm period (about 120,000 years ago) to find similarly warm conditions,\u201d he said, ABC News reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut since paleo-temperature records do not provide high enough temporal resolution, we cannot say with certainty that this July hasn\u2019t been hotter during the peak of the current interglacial [period].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Guterres has warned the world of impending climate doom.<\/p>\n<p>Just last November he told participants in the COP27 climate summit of impending \u201cclimate chaos\u201d due to humanity\u2019s \u201cfossil fuel addiction,\u201d as Breitbart News reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are on a highway to climate hell with our foot still on the accelerator,\u201d the career diplomat diplomat insisted during his Cop27 opening speech in the resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow will we answer when baby 8 billion is old enough to ask: What did you do for our world and for our planet when you had the chance?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>Previous to that in 2019 the secretary-general said climate-related devastation is striking the planet on a weekly basis and global action must be undertaken immediately with U.N. agencies in the lead, a message echoed by climate protesters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here because the world is facing a grave climate emergency,\u201d Guterres told a two-day Abu Dhabi climate meeting ahead of a Climate Action Summit in New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClimate disruption is happening now\u2026 It is progressing even faster than the world\u2019s top scientists have predicted,\u201d the U.N. secretary general said. \u201cIt is outpacing our efforts to address it.
