We have several cases that we will be publishing soon.\u00a0 It seems the Biden Administration has hired a lot of new and clueless individuals at NPRC.\u00a0 Some of the paperwork we get back is not what we asked for.\u00a0<\/div>\r\n

One case is a clown who has been running around doing motivational Guest Speaker events and claims his Silver Star is currently pending an upgrade to the Medal of\u00a0 Honor.\u00a0 I hate it when the Army forgets to enter your Silver Star into your records, it makes doing the upgrade to a MOH all that much harder.\u00a0<\/div>\r\n

Evidently, sending a list of authorized awards on that individual is beyond the abilities of some new hires.\u00a0 Seems pretty straight forward to me.\u00a0 I guess they are trying to be all they can be.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\r\n

In the mean time,\u00a0 we have cases like this guy who has some need to embellish his actual service beyond recognition.\u00a0 \u00a0He must have served with Gunny Highway in Grenada and probably helped rescue Dutch from that predator thing in Columbia.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/div>\r\n

The folks at MilitaryPhony<\/a> sent us their work on this Greg Ouimette fella.\u00a0 Gregory Paul Ouimette<\/a> comes to us from Keymer, Maryland.\u00a0 At the time of this writing, July 2023, Ouimette is 58 years old.<\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

In Ouimette’s LinkedIn profile<\/a>, there are claims of being a combat veteran of Operation Urgent Fury – the U.S. Invasion of Grenada in 1983 – and his receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for that operation. The profile also claims that he completed Ranger training and was a Staff Sergeant (E-6) in the Army.<\/p>\r\n

There’s also a claim of attending and graduating from the United States Military Police School in Fort McLellan [sic] Alabama but we are uncertain if this was a military or civilian pursuit and qualification.<\/p>\r\n

The servicemen that were wounded in the 1983 Grenada invasion is well-documented and Ouimette’s name is not listed.

Gregory Paul Ouimette’s military records were ordered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. We filed with the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) to account for his service claims. \r\n\r\n\r\n

We searched the DoD Manpower Data Center database and found no active duty service listing for Gregory Paul Ouimette. This database was searched for any active duty to the present day. It did not show any other service dates, but sometimes the database is unreliable for recall to active duty from reserve status. However, this result appears to be consistent with Ouimette’s NPRC FOIA response, since it stated that all of his service was “RESERVE TIME ONLY.”<\/blockquote>\r\n

As Jonn Lilyea would often say – “the NPRC remembers things differently.” Ouimette was discharged from the Army Reserve as a Private 2nd Class (E-2) vs. the SSG (E-6) claimed, no Ranger school listed for military training, no record that Ouimette served in combat, let alone serving in Grenada. He would have had to serve in combat to be a recipient of the Purple Heart. There was also a claim of a Bronze Star from Grenada, which his records did not support.<\/p>\r\n

Greg, do me a favor.\u00a0 If you come across that blowhard Blain that was with you in the jungles of Columbia, tell him we all know he lied about being in the Viet of Nam and he was never a SEAL.\u00a0 Just like you were not in Grenada and never a Ranger.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
